LEARN (Grades 1-5)
Days: Monday to Friday
Time: 2:30 - 6:00 p.m.
Sites: South End
Our after-school programs operate on days when Boston Public Schools are in session. Our youngest students receive one-on-one homework help, tutoring in math and reading, supplemental science, art, music and technology, and enrichment programming. They have opportunities for physical fitness (swimming, dance and free-play time outdoors) and are given a hot, nutritious meal each day.
YLC (Grades 6-8)
Days: Monday to Friday
Time: 2:30 to 7:00 p.m.
Site: Lower Roxbury
Students in grades 6-8 get academic support and enrichment geared toward their developmental level. Their programming includes leadership training and experiences, single-gender groups and workshops to help them develop healthy self-images and life habits. Key partners include Emerson College's Kidding Around (theater program), Trinity Foundation's Sole Train (running club), and Jewish Community Relations Council (mentoring program). The YLC has extended hours to accommodate later school release times and more extensive homework assignments.
JCIT (Grade 9)
Days: Monday to Friday
Time: 2:30 to 6:00 p.m., with optional additional academic help 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Site: Lower Roxbury
The JCIT Program activities include leadership training, work experience, and cultural and enrichment field trips throughout the Boston area.
CIT (Grades 10-12)
Days: Monday to Friday Time: 3:00 - 7:30 p.m. Sites: South End & Lower Roxbury
We provide teens and SSYP alumni with academic and emotional support, life skill and leadership training, college and career preparation, job training, and employment opportunities in our year-round programming. Visit our teen page for more info.
